Mumbai Monsoon: Charcoal painting by artist Ajay De

Artist Ajay De brings the bliss of a celestial phenomenon - the monsoons, in a city like Mumbai. In his quintessential charcoal medium on paper, the artist recaptures the nostalgia of an old world Mumbai and its charms. The rain washed monuments appear as if bathed in a chiaroscuro effect which the artist has mastered, almost making them luminous against a grey cloudy sky.

Artist Bruce Munro recycles 65,000 CDs as floating "Water Lilies"

British artist Bruce Munro's latest work involves a fair bit of recycling using some 65,000 shiny CDs. The waterborne artworks are giant lightcatchers meant to catch and reflect patterns of light.
 Bruce Munro took 65,000 defunct discs and turned them into 100 shining waterlilies for his light installation at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.

Subodh Gupta’s cooking up a storm at Art Basel

Subodh Gupta, Bihar born and Delhi based internationally famed artist, recreates an open hut made from used aluminium utensils, inside which he carries out a cooking and eating performance, commemorating these ritualistic practices. Gupta challenges aesthetic traditions of the ready made to present novel ideas of referencing and anecdotal assumptions to viewers so that we can relate to our own associations.

Sleeping Lady: Wonders of Malta

The incredible Hypogeum of Hal Saflieni is one of the most mysterious marvels in the city of Paola, Malta. Scientists are still arguing about this enigmatic temple. During excavations in the Hypogeum, a very famous  statue of a Sleeping Lady was discovered, and it is now being stored in the Archaeology Museum in Malta.
