Annual Umbrella Installation, Agueda, Portugal

The Umbrella Sky Project began in 2011 as a part of the city of Águeda’s famous annual Ágitagueda Art Festival in Portugal. Each year, during the hot summer months of July, August, and September, a handful of the city’s narrow streets gain colorful umbrella canopies that provide shade for the pedestrians passing through.

The sculpture controlled by bees: Artist Wolfgang Buttress's Hive

British artist Wolfgang Buttress, whose 17-metre high Hive installation opens at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, in London on Saturday. “I want visitors to feel enveloped, wrapped-up and involved in the experience, rather than adopting the position of an external observer.”
Its 170,000 pieces of aluminium are a hive-like structure of latticework, controlled by the vibrations of honeybees in a hive at Kew that is connected to the sculpture.

Renowned artist Christo Vladimirov Javacheff invites public to walk on water

The latest project from Bulgarian-American landscape artist Christo is a golden walkway across a lake, linking two Italian islands to the mainland.
The $16.8 million project, called ‘Floating Piers,’ is the first outdoor installation since the golden gates in Central Park in 2005, which he installed with his late wife and collaborator Jeanne-Claude. ‘Floating Piers’ consists of floating walkways covered with golden fabric connecting two islands in Lake Iseo, in northern Italy, to one another and to the mainland.
